Can You Be a Great Mom and Run a Successful Business? YES! Here’s How…

I Use to Wonder…

I used to wonder if it was even possible to be a good mom while building a successful online business.

Between the diapers, the meal prep, the school drop-offs, and the never-ending to-do list, the thought of adding one more thing to my already full plate felt impossible.

I didn’t want to take time away from my kids. I didn’t want to feel guilty for working when I should be spending time with them. And honestly? I was exhausted just trying to keep up with daily life.

So how do you build a business when you’re already doing everything?

Why Trying to “Find More Time” Doesn’t Work

At first, I tried the obvious approach: squeezing in work whenever I had a spare moment.

I’d wake up early to get work done before the kids were up. I’d stay up late after they went to bed. I’d try to multitask while they played.

And do you know what happened?

❌ I was more stressed than ever.
❌ I felt pulled in every direction—never fully present with my kids OR my business.
❌ I started feeling like I was failing at both.

I knew something had to change.

The Secret? Working in “Pockets of Time”

Instead of forcing long, uninterrupted work sessions (which is nearly impossible with kids), I started looking for small, intentional moments throughout my day.

  • During nap time – A golden opportunity for deep work.

  • During their afternoon show – A guilt-free moment to check emails.

  • While they were at preschool – A perfect time for client calls or content creation.

  • After bedtime, when the house was finally quiet – The best time to plan and strategize.

These small but focused work sessions completely transformed my business. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I started feeling in control. Instead of trying to “do it all,” I focused on what actually mattered.

And here’s the crazy part: Giving myself permission to pursue something outside of motherhood actually made me a BETTER mom.

Being a Mom AND a Business Owner is Possible (and SO Worth It!)

When I stopped seeing my business as something that took away from my family and started seeing it as something that added to my life, everything changed.

✔ I was more present with my kids because I had something that fueled me.
✔ I had more financial freedom to support my family.
✔ I felt fulfilled knowing I was building something of my own.

You don’t need hours of uninterrupted time to start a business. You just need the right strategy to use the time you already have.
